Portrait

The world-famous Matterhorn, or "Horu", peeps directly into the rooms of the youth hostel at the edge of Zermatt village. It is not just the first-class location that is exclusive, however, but also the youth hostel itself. Among the most modern of its kind in the world, it welcomes internationl guests of every age.

Views of the Matterhorn from your bedroom
Those who love to recount their sporting exploits will meet like-minded guests in the spacious lobby, while those seeking relaxation might prefer to retreat to the comfortable armchair nook for some cosy chat. This is a youth hostel where striking up acquaintances comes naturally. Here, admirers of good architecture are treated to a special experience, as are Matterhorn fans. Architecture buffs will find a successful and daring mixture of traditional and modern approaches to guest accommodation. And where else can you find a room with such a perfect and unique view of the Matterhorn?

Once you arrive in Zermatt, the hostel is nor far away: it is situated at the edge of the village amid tranquil surroundings, just 15 minutes on foot from Zermatt's bustling Bahnhofstrasse. And, by the way, Zermatt is car-free.
